I Ride

I was lost in the maze of life completely full of fear

Wandering aimlessly for no path out had become clear

Feeling cold and alone with only the walls to hold dear

Suddenly there was a presence walking with me in here

I was a captive having been enslaved by own desire

Promising freedom and joy but leading only to fire

Learning almost to late that all this was from the liar

Suddenly a man in white lifted me out of the pyre

I was freed by the love of the one who has conquered all

Sacrificing himself paying a debt that was not small

Unchaining this prisoner and raising him to stand tall

Suddenly a trumpet sound beckoning to heed his call

I’m a soldier answering the cry to war by his side

Following the commands of the one we hail as the bride

Fighting to free those to whom the vile enemy has lied

Joyfully hoisting a banner for with Jesus I ride
